The Wilson Primary School

Remote Learning

Most pupils returned to school full time on 8 March 2021. Despite this, there is still a risk of localised outbreaks of coronavirus (COVID-19) or of small numbers of individual pupils being unable to attend school.

Where a class, group or small number of pupils need to self-isolate, or there are local or national restrictions requiring pupils to remain at home, the school will offer immediate remote education.

Each class is connected to Class Dojo and learning will be uploaded onto the site daily for children who are not in school to undertake. Teachers will be available throughout the week from 4pm - 5pm to support children and parents with any learning questions or issues.  Teachers will provide a mixture of resources provided by the Oak National Academy, White Rose Maths  and BBC Bitesize, as well as resources that act either as a stimulus or a prompt or for children to be able to copy into their home learning books. Where a whole class is isolating, teachers may also post small ‘show me videos’ to offer simple explanations of the learning tasks planned for the children and to help explain methods and approaches.
